There is a magic in Ruth's ability to breakthrough to tiny people and parents alike. As our children's childcare provider and a relationship specialist, Ruth constantly flexes both muscles, teaching little minds the power of understanding their emotions and the effects of their emotional responses on those around them. Days when they act as "human spirits" are good days and though the "human animal" creeps in from time to time, it's amazing to watch them recognize it and work through their emotions instead of acting out. This ability to read themselves and other people has helped immensely at home, too. Just yesterday I was flustered, rushing around and getting increasingly frustrated when the toddlers weren't listening. I was short and eventually did what I hate doing, yelled. Later that evening my oldest brought me the "How full is my bucket" book, a gift that Ruth gave to each of her children as part of a lesson plan. "Mom, next time you get upset and yell at me, just take a breath and read me this book, it will fill your bucket back up!" How many 4 year old’s can grasp that concept? I'm so grateful for Ruth's influence on our entire family.
We are so fortunate to have her as a part of our lives.
